Muskegon-area basketball: Muskegon boys beat Mona Shores in hard-fought game - MLive.com

MUSKEGON – The crosstown rivalry games between Muskegon and Mona Shores were in the spotlight for Muskegon-area high school basketball Thursday night.

At Redmond-Potter Gymnasium, Kailyn Nash scored 32 points to power Muskegon to a 47-42 girls basketball victory over Mona Shores on senior night. CLICK HERE for details, photos and video.

Muskegon boys get past Mona Shores

In a game that was hard-fought the entire way, Muskegon’s boys basketball team earned a 49-41 victory over rival Mona Shores Thursday night at the Sailor Center.

The Big Reds (12-5, 11-2 OK Green Conference) held a 21-20 halftime lead after trailing 16-13 following one quarter. Muskegon outscored Mona Shores 13-12 in the third and 15-9 in the fourth.

Jordan Briggs led all scorers with 19 points and three rebounds for Muskegon. Kalil Stimage had 14 points, six steals and four rebounds for the Big Reds, while Ethan Hill and Fred Hull added six points apiece.

Ethan Krueger and Drew Southland paced Mona Shores (2-14, 2-12) with 10 points apiece, while Keonte Richards and Parker Swartz added nine and eight, respectively. Swartz also had five rebounds and three assists. Krueger and Southland had four rebounds each.

BOYS
