The Cañon City Tigers tennis ladies fell in the first round of the 4A state tourney Friday in Pueblo.
Junior Ali Tedesko played a hard-fought match against Windsor at No. 2 singles. She lost a tight first set 7-5, then dropped the second set 1-6.
The Windsor girl then defeated Cheyenne Mountain easily in the second round. Because of COVID, this year’s tourney was one and done, so Tedesko was eliminated from the tourney. In past years, she would have been pulled back in.
The No. 2 doubles team of Alyssa Rupp and Anna Baker lost their first-round match to the Lewis-Palmer team 6-0, 6-1.
Mullen won the championship with Cheyenne Mountain taking runner-up.
