Yes, it was another double-double for Sylvia Fowles (26 points, 18 rebounds)—her fourth of the season. But it was her fifth block in Atlanta’s final possession in Wednesday’s 87-85 victory at Atlanta that was her best of the night.
“Definitely her leadership,” said LaChina Robinson of the 6’6” veteran center, who recorded her 171st career double after the hard-fought contest. Fowles was named earlier this week to the USA Olympic WBB squad.
Robinson and Angel Gray comprise the league’s only all-sista broadcasting team (Minnesota viewers got the Atlanta feed).
EYE TEST – Fowles was virtually unstoppable all night—she had 18 points at the half.
KEY STAT – It was her/his only offensive rebound of the night, but G Layshia Clarendon chased down Minnesota’s last shot and ran the clock out. It capped a 17-6 MN 4th quarter run.

FINALLY – A poor scoring night for Kayla McBride (nine points) but she scored two big buckets in the final two minutes, including a pull-up jumper that proved to be the winning basket for Minnesota (6-7, 2-0 over ATL) —the Lynx trailed by as much as 18 points.
