Craft beer first came into existence as a response to growing demand for more grapefruit and citrus-flavored beverages, and now hard seltzers have snagged regional interest, as demand skyrockets for fruit-flavored alcoholic beverages.
That’s what led The Brewing Projekt to launch their Bomb seltzers, which feature four flavors: Creamsicle, Piña Colada, Mango Passionfruit, and Mixed Berry.
What makes these seltzers different from The Brewing Projekt’s signature craft beers is that their beers are made with malts and hops, whereas seltzers have a base of fermented sugar – much like a rum base, except it hasn’t been distilled.
The Bomb seltzers contain real fruit – either in the form of a concentrate or puree – but never through an extract.
And it’s been a hit.
“The demand has far exceeded what we’ve been able to produce,” said owner William Glass. “The response has been insane.”
