Gettysburg, Pa. - The Washington College men's soccer team earned a hard-fought, 1-1 draw, against the Gettysburg Bullets in a Centennial Conference match on Saturday evening at Clark Field. The Shoremen are now 8-4-1 (3-2-1 C.C.) while the hosts go to 8-3-2 (3-2-1 C.C.)

How It Happened
- After sophomore goalie Anthony Pinto made several early spectacular saves, Gettysburg got on the board with an own goal in the 24th minute. Junior midfielder Connor O'Donnell sent a hard cross from just outside the left-side of the box towards the far post. Shoremen senior defender Del Jenkins tried to clear the ball wide of the net, instead his attempt went straight into the lower corner of the goal past Pinto.
- Senior midfielder James Strine had Washington's best opportunity in the opening half with just under five minutes left but his attempt from 25-yards sailed just high and wide of the target.
- The Shoremen had their first second-half opportunity with 40:25 left as junior defender Alex Coster sent a hard shot on goal to the near post from the right side. Gettysburg keeper Kevin Muhic was unable to make a clean stop and the ball was loose in front but Washington was unable to get a foot on it.
- The Shoremen finally got the equalizer at 54:58 after a 25-yard free kick by James Strine from the middle of the pitch. Strine lofted the kick into the box and Jenkins was able to rise up at the five-yard line and head the ball past a diving Muhic into the lower right corner.
- Washington College, who controlled most of the second-half, almost took the lead with 22:15 left as junior midfielder Ben Strine headed a corner kick from his brother off the upper corner of the right post.
- The Shoremen had a great opportunity just fifteen seconds into the second overtime as senior forward Eric Gwadz found himself ahead of the backline following a defensive miscue. Gwadz, however, was unable to get off a shot as a defender was able to catch up and break up the play.

Scoring: Jenkins (goal), James Strine (assist)
Goalie: Pinto (110:00, goal allowed, 5 saves)

For the Bullets
