Memphis point guard Ja Morant says his status for Game 2 is “in jeopardy” after injuring his hand after a hard fall late in the 4th quarter of the Grizzlies’ 128-112 Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in their first-round playoff series.
Ja Morant says his status for Game 2 is “in jeopardy.” He was downtrodden and not even able to use his right hand to undo a balled-up pair of socks. “Feels like it’s one thing after another.”

Morant went down hard on a drive to the basket after being called for a charge into Lakers big man Anthony Davis. Morant was in pain and holding his right wrist as he immediately left for the Grizzlies’ locker room.
“He’s in some pain,” Taylor Jenkins said of Ja Morant. The Grizzlies’ medical staff is evaluating Morant’s hand and wrist. He was already dealing with an injury to that hand. https://t.co/VwDpo8LJZ6

Morant had 18 points before leaving in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies superstar played Game 1 with his right hand already wrapped from what coach Taylor Jenkins described as a contusion in his pregame availability.
