RIGHT NOW? WELL, IT CERTAINLY LOOKS VERY SNOWY HERE. YOU KNOW, THERE WAS ABOUT 60% OF THE TOWN OF TYNGSBOROUGH THAT WAS WITHOUT POWER. WE SET UP RIGHT IN FRONT OF THESE TRAFFIC LIGHTS HERE BECAUSE ABOUT A MINUTE AGO THEY WEREN’T WORKING. THEY JUST CAME BACK ON JUST A MOMENT AGO. HERE, WE CAN TELL YOU THAT NATIONAL GRID SAYS THERE ARE ABOUT 4000 CUSTOMERS BETWEEN WESTFORD, TYNGSBOROUGH AND DRACUT THAT ARE WITHOUT POWER. BUT THOSE NUMBERS. MAY HAVE CHANGED BECAUSE NOW YOU CAN SEE THAT LIGHT, THAT THOSE LIGHTS JUST CAME BACK ON. PEOPLE WERE NOT REALLY OBEYING THE RULES OF THE ROAD HERE. YOU GOT TO STOP AT INTERSECTIONS WHERE THE LIGHTS AREN’T FLASHING, BUT NOW WHERE THEY’RE NOT WORKING. RATHER, BUT NOW THEY ARE BACK HERE AND THEY ARE ON NOW WE WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THIS SNOW REAL QUICK. SO THIS IS, UH, I KNOW CINDY WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT IT. WE’RE OUTSIDE OF 495. REALLY? Merrimack Valley towns hard hit by power outages
As many as 75% of power customers in Tyngsborough lost power during the snowstorm Sunday morning.According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency's outage map, about 4,000 customers in Tyngsborough were out at about 11 a.m. Nearby communities also reported scattered outages. There were about 13,000 power outages statewide at about 11 a.m. Tyngsborough expected most customers to be back online by early afternoon.
