WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Schools are on lockdown in four Kentucky counties.
According to a social media post, all Wolfe County Schools are on a hard lockdown “due to an incident in the Bethany Area.” School officials tell us there was a shooting.
A WKYT viewer took this video from the Bethany area:
School officials say a suspect, “possibly in a white Chevrolet pickup,” is still at large.
Our sister station, WYMT, reports Lee and Owsley County Schools are also on “soft” lockdowns as a precaution. Breathitt County was also on a soft lockdown, but that has since been lifted.
Powell County Schools are on a “perimeter lockdown.”
We’re working to get more details about the situation, and we’ll keep you updated.
